musingsbymattheous asked: Do you know of a protective sleeve for a 2010 MacBook that is as good as a case? I was going to buy a sleeve for my MacBook, but my father (as usual) interferes on the grounds that it wouldn't be protected enough.

I have a laptop bag, but I usually try to travel with only my iPhone, as I have word processing apps on there, as well as a remote desktop app. But when doing...

Trying to snag some deals post-Christmas.

Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated. :)

A little public service
I thought this would help some of the readers out there that are also travelers like me. If you are going to fly down south, to Patagonia, please DON’T do the following: Don’t fly Delta airlines to Buenos Aires or Santiago. They have the worse check-in time and horrendous service. Their employees both on the ground and on the air and simply the worst. Don’t fly LAN Airlines...

Pack Ideas
I had been searching for a minimal military style pack for everyday use. I am a student photographer and I also work at a restaurant. So any given day my carry changes depending on the task. Thus the need for a military style pack with the ability to add and remove based on needs. I am a big believer in having one pack to do most jobs, carrying a dedicated camera bag isnt possible for me as I ride...

Busy...
I’ll be busy for the next 10 days or so, I’ll post when I can but posts will be slow. Sorry for that. On the other hand I have so cool traveling coming soon and it’ll give me the chance to try different things: my GORUCK Echo as a travel pack for a 2 day business trip, trying a new packing technique that it’s supposed to keep the clotting wrinkle free and some others....

Cargo Cult →
This is everything I pack for a typical three-week trip to Europe or South America, riding trains and buses and splitting my time between town and country. It all fits easily into a carry-on bag, with room left over for a bottle of Côtes du Rhône, a baguette and a few souvenirs.

1) re: 21 day camping trip to patagonia, you mention carrying both a fleece and a nano puff. Would it be possible to survive without the fleece and use the nano puff more instead?...

Sorry
I have been trying to upload the pictures of the backpack and duffle bag that I packed for the climbing trip to Patagonia, but Tumblr keeps on throwing an error every time I tried to upload a file, any file. Even when I place a link to a picture. So, until Tumblr gets its act together I won’t be able to upload the pictures. Sorry.

21 days climbing trip to Patagonia
19 days in Patagonia, 2 days in Buenos Aires, climbing gear and a lot of fun. This is what I pack: 45 liter Lowe Alpine Mountain Attack backpack. Used to carry most of my stuff to and from Argentina and during the climb (climbing gear, small bivy sack, etc). A 20 liter duffel bag with the climbing gear: biners, rope, harness, crampons, ice tools, mountaineering boots, lightweight stove, etc. ...

awayandaway asked: Hi there! Love your blog! As a new traveler, it is very helpful!
I am traveling to Africa in a month, and am putting it all in a backpack (MEC Alpinelite 85L).

I am going with Gap Adventures for a month. Will be doing a lot of camping, and some volunteer work as well. I am bringing an SLR and a couple lenses as well.
Any tips for a gal like me? How do I make this work?...

Commuting to school with the Black Diamond Bullet
As per your recommendation I got the Black Diamond Bullet and I used it to commute to school this morning. Here’s what I typically bring, so this pack was the perfect size. It’s also deceptive in that it can hold way more than it looks. Great buy! Submitted by theoldbo-ris. Edit: I’m glad you like the backpack. That little one is bigger than it looks. It’s a...
